Sonic Sculptures

In this episode of "Living Room Music by N8K99," titled Sonic Sculptures, we dive into an eclectic mix of six tracks that showcase both innovative engineering techniques and the raw power of trumpet improvisation. As I continue to rebuild the strength in my embouchure, I've integrated new features in LPX to create dynamic backing tracks. These tracks not only serve as my physical exercise in playing but also expand my musical creativity, allowing me to experiment with key signatures and chord changes, fitting in trumpet parts as I improvise melody lines.

Here’s a breakdown of the tracks featured in this episode:

  1. In a Certain Way: A track that sets the tone with its unique blend of ambient sounds and stream of consciousness vocal improvisation.
  2. Limber Irons: An energetic piece designed to challenge my trumpet skills and engineering creativity, featuring vocoder effects and intricate drum-triggered filters.
  3. Thursday About Noon: A laid-back track that captures the essence of a calm afternoon, enhanced with subtle electronic textures.
  4. Ordinary Chill: This track embodies a relaxed vibe, perfect for unwinding while showcasing smooth trumpet melodies.
  5. Massive: One of the two tracks created for an upcoming show at Justice Pub, combining traditional song structures with electronic elements.
  6. 1000 Paper Swans: The second track for the Justice Pub performance, blending introspective trumpet solos with layered soundscapes.

Join me on this sonic journey as we explore the fusion of traditional trumpet sounds with modern electronic engineering, offering a glimpse into the direction my music is evolving towards. Enjoy the auditory experience and stay tuned for more exciting musical explorations!
